We’re well into the flow of our summer holiday camps now. As we’re over half way through our summer of fun, the pace certainly isn’t slowing!
We’re living our best lives at camp and the children and staff are making it a summer to remember at Barracudas.
Here’s just a snapshot of some of highlights from the last 2 weeks:
There’s been a creative vibe at Barnet camp this week with lots of art sessions and creative thinking with some fun quizzes. The Barracudas group have found a new favourite activity - Werewolf, they're obsessed! The Early Years groups have been busy trying to find Billy on their Billy Hunt, this was a success, until he ran off again (naughty Billy!).
This Friday we're having a special sports day in honour of this week’s Theme Day. The groups will be competing in different sports day activities for their teams; even our red shirts and blue shirts are having their own races. It’s going to get competitive!
We’ve had great fun at Hertford camp this week, exploring a whole range of different activities.
The Sharks displayed their entrepreneurial side in The Apprentice, creating their own business or charity. They had time to plan as a team and create their business and then presented their ideas to the panel of redshirts (Thea, Molly H and Albert). The ‘Dragons’ evaluated their business, the strategy and the amount of investment they required. The children had some amazing ideas and we look forward to seeing some of these being developed in the future!
More standout moments at Hertford this week have included: brilliant games of cricket, some exciting and intense quidditch matches, up and coming scientists doing various experiments including vinegar and bicarbonate soda balloons and making telephone cups and lots of fun swimming sessions!
There’s been a huge amount of fun at Copthorne camp this summer. Here’s a pic of some children taking a break from all the activities. They used their creative talents to make this amazing Den and loved using it to full advantage during lunch time last week...
We're getting immersed in some fantastic games at Barracudas St Albans camp including a really energetic Fortnite session and Hula jump. Kids are loving the giant board game with hula hoops, playing rock paper scissors to move! Brilliant!
Upminster had a spectacular second week of camp. They made full use of the aqua slide which the kids absolutely loved! They even had a special activity leader when Billy Barracuda ran one of the aqua slide sessions during his wander round camp!
We've had lots of great entries for our camp competitions in the last 2 weeks.
A big congratulations to Wokingham last week for winning the ‘Show us your moves!’ challenge. Upminster and Woking were our worthy runners up. The energy coming from each camp was uplifting to see.
This week's competition was ‘Sing your heart out!’. Our camps were challenged to make up their best Barracudas chant to sing walking around the camp. This is a strong tradition at Barracudas and really adds to the atmosphere and sense of belonging at camp, so is something very close to our hearts. Congratulations goes to Watford camp for winning this week, with Huntingdon and Cobham camps coming in as our runners up!
We love seeing what all the children are up to at camp. Each week we choose our favourite picture from camp summing up the summer of FUN. Last week Herford camp won the top spot with this smiley group picture.
This week, top spot goes to High Wycombe, with this image of sheer joy!
Here's some lovely images of the fun we've had at camp over the last 2 weeks
We’re certainly having a full on summer of fun at camp this year. All our children and staff are loving getting stuck in to all our activities and the atmosphere at each of our camps couldn’t be better.
We’re looking forward to even more fun with friendships and memories made for the last remaining weeks of summer camp 2021!
We still have a few remaining places to book on certain days this summer. If you're interested, you can find your nearest camp to check availability here.
