Easy homemade Halloween costumes for kids

Kids love Halloween. It’s a great chance for them to get creepy and ghoulish, with the promise of some tasty treats!

We know, it feels like it was summer only 2 minutes ago. Now the nights are drawing in and we’re hunkering down and cosying up.

If the thought of making costumes sends shivers down your spine, fear not, we’ve got you covered with these easy D.I.Y. Halloween costumes:

Homemade egg box black cat costume

This is a super easy option and great if you’re running up to the wire! The black cat costume is also great for environmentally conscious parents.

All you need is some egg cartons, paint, pipe cleaners and a few common household items.

Homemade Halloween bat costume

Another spooky animal, this is a super easy option that all kids will love.

All you need is some black clothes, an old black umbrella and some black felt/card and safety pins.

Much more professional than the ‘holes cut out of a sheet’ option (which is frankly fully acceptable too!).

If you want to up the ante for the spooky ghost, all you’ll need is some white fleece, black felt and fabric glue.

OK, so not the most traditional Halloween costume, this one will appeal to the kids!
